Preserving wildlife and plants native to Texas, The Texas Zoo houses only animals from tropical and sub-tropical regions that have a direct relation to animals that are, or were once, found in the region. Some of the fascinating animal species found at the zoo include lemurs, whose ancestors traveled across the continent long ago, and red wolves, driven out of their native habitats decades ago. The zoo is located on the west end of Victoria, just south of the Riverside Golf Course.
